Paperwork requirements can vary widely depending on the complexity of a persons or businesses needs. Below is a list of what is most commonly needed for individual and small business taxes. Personal Information

  • A copy of last years tax return

  • Social Security cards for you, your spouse, and your dependents

  • Valid drivers license or state ID for you and your spouse (front and back if uploading)

  • If military and filing as non-resident – military and dependent ID

  • Birth dates for you, your spouse, and all dependents

  • Account and Routing numbers for your refund, if any

 

Dependent information

  • Childcare records, including the care provider's tax ID number.

  • Income of dependents and of other adults in your home.

 

Sources of income

  • Employee Income - W-2

  • Unemployment Income - 1099-G

  • Self Employment Income - In addition to forms such as 1099 or K-1 you may have other documents that could affect your tax liability. Please contact our office to discuss your business details with us prior to bringing in your paperwork

  • Rental Income – income and expense records, Purchase information, and record of tax estimated payments made

  • Retirement Income – 1099R Pension/Annuity/IRA income, IRA contributions, Social Security Income

  • Investments, Dividends, and Savings Income – Many forms related to these types of income will be provided by your investment or financial institution. Contact us to discuss which forms you should have prior to preparing you taxes       

  • Other Sources of Income – gambling, hobby, Royalties, Trust, Prize/Award income as well as any other source of income or 1099s received

  • Any  business transactions a third-party payment service or card processor has paid you throughout the year - 1099-K

  • *2020 & 2021 taxes only* – information about your economic impact payments (EIPs), also known as stimulus payment, if applicable. Examples include IRS Notice 1444 or other records showing your EIP amount
